Why 03:33 video
I know it's late but I've got time and the will to forget certain lines. Here in my room, it's alright. I can sleep through the day if I like. My sweet lover, here by my side - under the covers I can hide. But shadows and feelings come into mind - you get me, you get me, you get me each time tell me Why are you here again? I told you, I told you, I told you this was the end. It's that evil emotion mother called guilt. It wraps in chains, makes me feel ill. I've got no reason to let you stay - You've got no right to haunt me this way. My sweet lover, here by my side - under the covers I can hide. But shadows and feelings come into mind - you get me, you get me, you get me each time tell me Why are you here again? I told you, I told you, I told you this was the end. Tell me Why are you here again? I know you, I know you, I know you and you're not my friend. Get out of here, Get out of here, Get out.

I know what happens when summer arrives... blood races as temperatures rise. You say: "Baby, got to keep your cool - don't be like the other fools who say I don't do what I say I do 'cause that's not true." but this is Something I Never Knew... I know we all have our own special secrets - It's only human, in our nature I guess. You say: "Baby, there's always a way to hide the truth away and save it for that rainy day." well, okay but this is Something I Never Knew. It's Something I Never Knew. Yeah, this is Something I Never Knew about you. What goes around comes around and I got two feet on the ground and I'm not the one falling down and I know, I know, I know - You say" "Baby, there's nothing I wouldn't do to have my cake and eat it, too - I'll let you know when I'm through."

Mask 04:34
You pull the covers over your head and you shut your eyes - Sometimes I think you might be dead - I wouldn't be surprised. Hoping and holding onto who - I don't really know. Can you show me - show me how it really goes behind the Mask, under the Mask. You say we all need it - some place to hide. Well, I don't believe it and I can't even see inside. Always, always some new story to tell. And it's easy when fantasy is what you do so well. behind the Mask, under the Mask. There in your room - deep in the darkness will you hum a tune while I hear your heartbeat - I hear your heartbeat. Oh, the state you're in - just a man out of time. Go out in that limb, look into my eyes Hoping and holding onto who I don't really know...

Love Wins 04:02
He brings me coffee every morning. Silly presents now and then...gives me everything I wanted with a kiss. Have I forgotten how it used to be - no, no, no. but it doesn't matter anymore. You see a rainbow you forget the rain, so I don't care. The moon can go, the sun can fade. The mountains move, it'll be okay 'cause I hold his hand and my world is right the war is over and Love Wins. Guess I've had my share of chances to love someone and do it right. We learn the meaning of forgiveness over time. So when the sun comes up tomorrow he'll be kissing me awake. The cup of coffee on my windowsill will have to wait.

You Are 03:40
I've seen days like this when there's so much I miss. All those chances I need were there right beside me but time keeps ticking and I keep wishing that the walls come tumbling down when love comes back around. And there You Are taking me to heaven. You Are making my heart sing You Are showing me everything You Are. Fortunes can be lost. I've seen empires crumble. These four walls and a door mean much more than before. But time keeps ticking - something's missing and I keep wishing that the walls come tumbling down when love comes back around.

Killing Time 03:07
You're the one with all the answers and you've found a plan for what was. Ain't it funny how you're always knocking on the wrong people not the right doors but then you're just Killing Time... Just Killing Time. After mistakes are said and done you thought it was time for some fun. But it's only funny how nothing else feels like the dust in my eyes while you spin your wheels. You're just Killing Time... Just Killing Time. Grab for the knife that I won't give to you - Go for the gun but I won't die with you. I know what desperation can do and I will stay far away - away from you.

Satisfied 04:40
I've always believed in miracles long before I met you but you were like a dream fulfilled - a wish that came true. Spring, summer, fall and winter - time flew like the wind. We danced to a silent song in a night without end. But there were times when we wanted more than this and someone whispered "Let the games begin" From heartache into heart break we learned the hard way...but now Every time I look at you I'm Satisfied. Every little thing we do leaves me Satisfied. Baby, when I'm loving you, I'm Satisfied...so, so Satisfied. Like an unexpected patch of blue in a stormy sky I discovered peace with you, with eyes open wide. But there were times when we hid our hearts away so many secrets - so little to say Sometimes silence is worse than violence But we learned the hard way and now...

It doesn't take a hero to walk down that road It just takes your heart and what you believe. Now the truth makes you angry when it comes to your country - you've got some questions for powers that be and you say: I tried hard to see the way it should be - I used to care about God's Enemies. But look what's left me - it's not the way it should be and I don't want to fight God's Enemies anymore. Three crying babies that you can't even feed, but they say in the next life you'll find relief. When you look for answers you find heads shake and backs turn. You've got your problems but aren't you free to say: I tried hard to see the way it should be - I used to care about God's Enemies. But look what's left me - it's not the way it should be and I don't want to fight God's Enemies anymore. Don't tell me what's good or bad - I gave up every chance I had to be happy... to be happy...for you.

Home 04:59 video
Paolo's got a ways to go but he says he's got lots of time. He's found some 2 x 4's and a beat up door walking around looking for signs of Home. And it's the shadow of myself and you know it feels like Home to me. It's kinda like the dreams we build - one piled on top of the other but I put my soul in the hand I hold walking around, finally coming back Home... It's what you make it - all we do. I couldn't place it until I found you.

about

Muscle is actually Love Riot's second recording - we released a cassette before this that we can't find right now. If we do, we'll get it transferred and share as well. This recording was made possible by the prize money the band won by winning a worldwide music competition sponsored by Yamaha. We played the Eight by Ten in Baltimore and got into the national competition. Then played the House of Blues in LA and got into the international competition representing the states. Then we won. Grand Prize and everything. So we asked Eric "Roscoe" Ambel to come down from Brooklyn and help us record the first six songs on this album. He joined us at High Heel Studios (now Wright Way) and produced what represents the early acoustic sound that would later morph into the more electrified full band version of Love Riot. At the time, we didn't have drums. Just violin, acoustic guitar, bass and vocals. Eric encouraged us to add some percussion on the songs and we invited Julia Vanek to join us in the studio. Soon after, we decided to add drums and "Young" Ron Campbell joined the band.

about

Love Riot Baltimore, Maryland

Formed in Baltimore in 1994 by singer Lisa Mathews and guitarist Mikel Gehl, Love Riot came to epitomize the sweet and sophisticated pop sounds emanating from countless mix format radio stations in the 1990s. While the band persistently flirted with success in that genre through well-placed television exposure and constant performances, they went on an indefinite sabbatical in 1999. - J. Duffy ... more
